Purpose This study aims to propose a centralized optimal control model for automated left-turn platoon at contraflow lane (CLL) intersections. Design/methodology/approach The lateral change and the longitudinal acceleration in horizon are optimized simultaneously with objective of maximizing traffic efficiency smoothness. proposed is cast into mixed-integer linear programming problem then solved by branch-and-bound technique. Findings has promising effect under different geometric controlled conditions. Moreover, performs robustly various safety time headways, lengths CLL green times main signal. Originality/value smoothness
